Organic Brands in Produce were all earth tone and rather bland. We wanted something big and bright for Daisy Girl, and we went with simple graphics and bold colors. The thought process was that Organic consumers would buy Organics no matter what, and I needed to attract those consumers, plus the non-traditional organic buyers. Daisy Girl took some time to sell, but it was a big hit once it hit the shelves. Daisy Girl is now the number one organic apple brand in North America.

From our backyard to yours -

Without the benefit of merchandisers, I needed a way to get our displays in stores. The typical way was to ship them separately to the warehouse then they would send them to the store. If they made it out of the back room, you were lucky. I developed this shipper to ship with the fruit. The sleeve and two boxes of fruit went into the master box. Once the produce got to the store, the produce was removed along with the sleeve, and the master box became the base. The sleeve slipped over the base the fruit went on top. We went from around 35% in-store execution to over 90%.
